Onwards Referrals:

If we think there may be an underlying cause to your balance changes or falls, we will discuss this with you and can refer you to your GP or a consultant who can provide an even more indepth assessment and diagnosis.

 What to Expect From Your PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Comprehensive Assessment

During your initial assessment your physiotherapist will ask you or your loved ones if preferred, questions to get to know you and what you would like to acheive with us. They will complete a physical assessment looking at your movement, strength, walking pattern, balance and more. Your physiotherapist can also assess your home and adivise on adaptations to help maintain independence or help keep you safe at home.

We also understand that health can be complex and involve many conditions, medications and other health professionals. We are experts in assessing and treating adults with multiple co-morbidities and a range of health concerns.

Personalised Treatment Plan

Your Home Physiotherapist will then discuss your goals and formulate a personalised treatment plan based on your assessment and your goals. They will discuss how long it may take to achieve these goals and what is required to reach them. They will also provide their recommendation on how many sessions you may require and how frequently.

Gait Re-education

As we age our walking pattern can change, this can cause us to become slower, trip more often or require an aid to feel safe. Our home visit physiotherapists can assess your gait (walking pattern) and advise you on how to improve. They may adivse on an aid or provide you with specific exercises improve your strength, balance, co-ordination and endurance.
