BSc Physiotherapy
Senior Physiotherapist
Rose is a highly experienced Senior Physiotherapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience and particular expertise in community rehabilitation, neurological physiotherapy, falls prevention and rehabilitation for older adults. She has spent much of her career working with patients in their own homes, independently managing complex caseloads and providing personalised rehabilitation focused on improving mobility, function and independence.
Rose currently works within an Intermediate Care Team, where she manages patients across community rehabilitation, community physiotherapy and falls pathways. She carries out holistic assessments, develops individualised treatment programmes and works closely with patients, families, occupational therapists, social care teams and therapy assistants to achieve meaningful, patient-centred goals.
Her extensive community experience makes Rose particularly well suited to home-based physiotherapy. She is confident assessing mobility, strength, balance, transfers and functional ability within a patient’s own environment, allowing rehabilitation to be tailored directly to the challenges they experience in everyday life. She also has considerable experience with discharge planning and helping patients regain confidence following illness, injury or a period of reduced mobility.
Rose has a strong background in neurological rehabilitation, having treated patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions in both inpatient and community settings. Her experience includes intensive neurological rehabilitation, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and families, and supporting patients to work towards realistic functional goals.
She also has significant experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, including rehabilitation, exercise programmes, positioning and seating advice, transfers, hydrotherapy and liaison with wheelchair and orthotic services. Rose understands the importance of involving family members and carers in rehabilitation where appropriate, ensuring that treatment strategies can be safely continued between sessions.
Her approach is thorough, calm and patient-centred. Rose focuses on understanding the individual as a whole, taking into account their medical history, mobility, home environment, confidence and personal priorities. Treatment is tailored around achievable goals, with particular emphasis on maintaining independence, reducing falls risk and improving day-to-day function.
Rose continues to develop her clinical knowledge through further training in areas particularly relevant to community physiotherapy, including balance rehabilitation, osteoporosis and fragility fractures, rheumatology, shoulder assessment and rehabilitation for the ageing population. She has also completed specialist Bobath training in the assessment and treatment of adults with neurological conditions.
With her extensive experience in community, neurological and older-adult rehabilitation, Rose provides safe, considered and highly personalised physiotherapy in the home. She is particularly passionate about helping patients maintain their independence, improve confidence with movement and achieve the best possible quality of life.
